At Restoration Physical Therapy
our approach to rehabilitation is unique in that we place a high value on manual
therapy and one on one treatment. We take the time to perform a thorough
structural/systems evaluation and then create a treatment plan that includes
manual therapy, structure specific exercise, and patient education.
Patients are seen one on one by a skilled, licensed physical therapist every
visit, and they are given a DVD of their personalized exercise program
significantly improving compliance. All of these things contribute to
excellent outcomes decreasing recovery time, and in many cases, frequency of
visits as well. We also emphasize good communication with our referral
sources providing regular progress notes and prompt phone response when
necessary. We are accustomed to a very diverse patient population
including industrial injury, spinal injury, chronic pain diagnosis, athletic
injury, and many others. Below is a detailed list of our services.
Manual Therapy: Manual therapy is the skilled application of hands and techniques used to evaluate and treat the neuromuscular system. Our method includes the integration of manual therapy approaches such as muscle energy, positional release, myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, and manipulation/mobilization. In addition to this, we use the more traditional physical therapy approaches, such as the use of passive modalities including ultrasound, interferential stimulation, iontophoresis, and phonophoresis. Exercise Therapy: Concerning exercise an emphasis is placed on body awareness in reactivation of inactive musculature. Patients are taught to use manual biofeedback to reactivate the deep core musculature. Patients are also instructed in the more traditionally used exercises as well as stretching and range of motion. All exercise is recorded on DVD at the time of instruction, and the patient is given this DVD free of charge for future reference. Performance Training: Our newest program addition is athletic performance enhancement. This program combines speed and agility training, with balanced coordination training, and static and dynamic strengthening. We combine the latest technology with the latest research to get superior results. Athletes are shaving tenths of seconds off their print times, and making incredible gains in traditional lifts such as bench press, squat, and dead lift.
